Comment Process

WOMMA invites comment on everything we publish and we encourage participation from all stakeholders. On complex issues such as this, we use a formal submission process. This structure encourages considered debate and deeper analysis than an informal discussion forum. Our process is modeled on that used by The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Status of this document

This draft of the WOMMA Code of Ethics was prepared by the WOMMA Ethics Council, with input from many outside parties. More than 1,100 individuals were on the email list and invited to participate. We received input from various experts and peer trade associations. Several companies submitted the Code for review by their legal counsel.

This document was released as a draft and posted for public comment on February 9, 2005.

The content of the document should be considered in context of the related documents that were published simultaneously: Fundamental Principles and Frequently Asked Questions.

The formal comment period will be open until April 15, 2005. We expect many future revisions; this is a living document designed to accommodate a changing industry. Many of these issues have never been discussed before, and we look forward to working with all stakeholders to develop a code that works for everyone.

How to submit comments

Submit comments using the form below or by email. All comments will be made available to the public and will be posted here. We do not edit personal identifying information from submissions; submit only information that you wish to make available publicly. All comments will be posted approximately 24 hours after they are received.

Anonymous comments will not be accepted. A fundamental principle of this Code insists on honest disclosure of identity. The source of all submissions will be verified.
