Speaker Rules
WOMMA conferences have just one goal: To give paying attendees the best conference experience they've ever had.
Luckily, WOMMA is fortunate to have hundreds of members and qualified experts that want to speak at our conferences. It is a constant challenge, however, to find room for all our great topics and presenters. There is never enough time or space to accommodate everyone.
Following are the objective guidelines that we use in speaker selection:
- Audience: The audience comes first, and nothing is more important than a great presentation.
- Quality: Speaking skills trump all other considerations.
- Topic relevance: We can't cover every topic at every event.
- Representation: Only one speaker per company may speak.
- Frequency: No one gets to speak at every event; we have more than 300 members and just 60 speaking slots. Members should never expect to speak at all events. With that said, speakers who get phenomenal reviews get invited back!
- Rank: Neither sponsorship, membership status nor financial standing will influence whether you get to speak; giving us money will not get you to the top of our speaker list.
Speakers we don't invite back:
- Unprepared speakers
- Speakers who promote or sell themselves
- Speakers who go off topic
- Speakers who go over time or who dominate other panelists' time
- Speakers who put their own agenda ahead of the audience's
